Advance voting is held to allow electors the opportunity to vote who are unavailable on Election Day. On Thursday, October 14 and Friday, October 15, 2010 the voting location will be equipped with touch screen voting units to accommodate people with visual impairments. These touch screens operate with or without an audio file that assists with the voting procedures. All voting locations are accessible to people with physical disabilities.
Voter Notification Card
Voter notification cards will be mailed to all electors the week of October 12, 2010, advising of the dates, times and locations of advance voting and regular voting.
Proxy Voting
September 13 – October 25, 2010
Any person who is a qualified elector may vote by proxy and may appoint as his/her proxy any other person who is eligible as an elector in the municipality. This appointment must be made by using a prescribed form available from the Office of the City Clerk. A person appointed as a voting proxy may only act for one person who is not a relative but can act as proxy for any number of relatives (including spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents or grandchildren). The appointment of a voting proxy may be made only after nomination day. Proxy forms must be submitted, in person, to the Office of the City Clerk.

• Ontario motor vehicle permit (plate portion)
• Cancelled personalized cheque
• Mortgage, lease or rental agreement
• Insurance policy
• Loan or financial agreement with a financial institution
• Document issued or certified by a court in Ontario
• Any other document from the government of Canada, Ontario or a municipality in Ontario or from an agency of such a government
• Any document from a Band Council in Ontario established under the Indian Act (Canada)
